I started drinking tea in 2007. My diet naturally changed during meditation practicing, along with that, I started drinking tea, as my body told me to.
One problem came out after that, which is I had to bring my own tea during work and business trips, for the commercial tea bags are full of tea stems and broken tea powder, which not only affects the taste, but also does not have much practical nutritional significance. After all, tea is considered a healthier choice, isn't it?
That was the first time when the idea came to my mind that I could do whole leaf teas.
Tea was first discovered for its medicinal properties. Like herbal medicines, the origin of tea is directly linked to taste and efficacy, Rooibos in South African and Darjeeling are all black teas, but with totally different tastes and nutrition. That gave me a lot of motivation to travel around the world's tea mountains and trace the origin of teas.
When drinking tea, what you drink is not just the tea itself, but also the environment and the year in which it was grown. From the tea, you can drink the flowers and plants around it, the altitude where it grows, whether it is on the sunny side or the shady side of the hillside, whether it is rainy or dry that year, etc.
These may sound profound and unreal, but they are actually things that everyone could do. You can easily taste the different tastes of the same tea brewed by two different people, or the difference in the tea brewed in different water, or the different temperature of the water, or the difference in the time of tea dunking in the water, .... It just needs to use the perception that everyone has, plus concentration. This is also one of the reasons why the tea ceremony has been considered to be the same as Zen practice for thousands of years.
Therefore, from this spring, I began to share my experience of drinking tea over the years and tea collected from all over the world. Hope everyone could like it.
